Acum 3 ani, Facultatea de Mecanică şi Tehnologie a primit gratuit din partea AVL Austria licente pentru softurile CRUISE, FIRE, BOOST si EXCITE (https://www.avl.com/ast). Ca urmare, în cadrul facultăţii s-a creat Laboratorul de „Modelare şi Simulare a proceselor Automobilului” , dedicat studenţilor masteranzi şi doctoranzilor.
Într-o primă fază, existenţa acestui laborator a permis iniţierea unei sesiuni de tip „formarea formatorilor”, susţinută de DAPEM din cadrul Renault Technologie Roumanie (http://www.renault-technologie-roumanie.com/). Un rezultat al acestei sesiuni de formare este că în cadrul a două lucrări de diplomă, susţinute în iulie 2011, s-au abordat subiecte rezolvate prin simulare numerică cu AVL CRUISE: unul legat de tehnica ECODRIVE/influenţa stilului de conducere asupra consumului de combustibil, altul legat de avantajele tehnicii de microhibridizare de tip „STOP&START”.
Pentru dezvoltarea unor subiecte de cercetare ce pot fi abordate cu FIRE, în prima saptămână a lunii octombrie două cadre didactice ale Catedrei Automobile vor beneficia de o formare dedicată ce va avea loc la AVL Graz.
Existenţa acestei donaţii de licenţe din partea AVL a permis şi introducerea unor discipline specifice în cadrul unui nou program de Master ce se va derula în limba engleză (Automotive Engineering for Sustainable Mobility), pus la dispoziţia absolvenţilor de licenţă începând cu 1 Octombrie 2011 de către Departamentul Automobile al Facultăţii de Mecanică şi Tehnologie.

3 years ago, Faculty of Mechanics and Technology received free of charge from AVL Austria licenses for CRUISE, FIRE, BOOST and EXCITE softwares (https://www.avl.com/ast). As a consequence, within the faculty a new lab dedicated to PhD students as well as to Master’s students was created: “Modelling and Simulation of Automobile’s processes”.
In a first phase, the existence of this lab allowed the initiation of a “Train the Trainers” session type, supported by DAPEM from Renault Technologie Roumanie (http://www.renault-technologie-roumanie.com/). One result of this training session is that within the frame of two final works for obtaining the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, presented in july 2011, subjects that dealt with numerical simulation were approached: one related with the ECODRIVE technique/influence of the driving style upon the fuel consumption and the other, on the „STOP&START” technique.
In order to develop research subjects which can be approached with FIRE, within the first week of October, two teachers from Automotive Department will benefit by a dedicated training program at AVL Graz.
Finally, the existence of these free licences from AVL allowed also the introduction of some specific seminary within the curricula of a new English taught Master (Automotive Engineering for Sustainable Mobility), which is to be launched on 1st of October by Automotive Department of the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology.
